El Barrio Before & After

Today in our “Before and After” series, we say goodbye to the neighborhood mural on 15th street, “My Culture, Mi Gente.” This colorful piece was created in 2009 by a group of young people from the Latin American Youth Center working with lead artist Joel Bergner. For nearly a decade, this two-story piece of street art beautified 15th Street NW, next door to where LAYC’s Art + Media House once stood (today it’s a condo building).
El día de hoy en nuestra serie “Antes y Después,” el lindo mural de la calle 15, “Mi Cultura, Mi Gente,” dice adiós a nuestros ojos. Realizado por los jóvenes del Latinoamerican Youth Center y dirigido por el artist Joel Bergner, esta colorida pieza fue creada en 2009, al lado de donde una vez estuvo el Art + Media House de LAYC (hoy en dia un edificio de condominios).
