Hola Cultura is a nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C., that serves as a bridge between the area’s Latino and non-Latinx communities, covering topics bilingually that affect D.C. residents’ everyday lives — from arts and humanities to environmental justice. The organization got its start in 2011 as an innovative series of artistic mini-documentaries featuring D.C.’s Latino arts, humanities and creative class. It’s the brainchild of Alberto Roblest, an award-winning artist, author, and educator. Since those early days, we’ve kept on growing—publishing more than 1,100 articles, interviews, videos and other media, as well as walking tours, festivals and other special events with the help of our talented youth and volunteer contributors. Together, we’re building an online archive.
Hola Cultura es una organización sin fines de lucro basada en Washington D.C., sirve como un puente entre las comunidades latinas y no latinas del área, y cubre temas en inglés y español que afectan las vidas diarias de los residentes de D.C. – desde artes y humanidades hasta la justicia ambiental. La organización fue fundada en el año 2011 como una innovadora serie de cortos documentales presentando a la clase latina de artes, humanidades y creatividad de D.C. Es la creación de Alberto Roblest, un artista ganador de premios, autor y educador. Desde los primeros días hemos seguido creciendo – publicando más de 1,100 artículos, entrevistas, videos, y otros medios de internet, así como tours a pie, festivales y otros eventos especiales con la ayuda de nuestros talentosos jóvenes y voluntarios contribuyentes. Juntos estamos creando un archivo en línea.
