Tango continues ….

By | Published | No Comments

Go-Go may be the District’s unofficial soundtrack, but there’s a whole lot of tango going on at the moment. The Embassy of Argentina has just kicked off a month-long tango celebration that includes not just music and dancing but art and film too. And Sunday, the Kennedy Center gets into the mood with Urban Tango Trio playing a free concert on the Millennium Stage.

Next week, the tangoing continues around the city. And the Argentine Embassy opens a new exhibition by the collective, PA7 (A.K.A. Pintores Argentinos 7). According to the invitation, the painters “express the soul of Argentine music, dance and culture from their special view point as expatriates.” There will be more music, dancing–and a special screening of the classic tango-ambienced movie, “Arrabalera”–through early May.
