East Boston Community Soup Kitchen: 10 years of helping people rebuild their lives

This year marks a decade since the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen first opened.

Today the organization operates as a food pantry on Mondays and as a soup kitchen on Tuesdays from the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church on Paris Street. On those days, the hundreds of local residents for whom it’s become a weekly lifeline can also pick up clothing, hygiene supplies and pet food, get a haircut or get help finding a new home.
We visited the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen this summer to learn more about its mission to alleviate hunger and provide residents with caring support.
