Are you a high schooler, college student or young adult interested in topics centered on Latine art, identity, social and environmental justice, and more?

If this sounds like you, apply now for Hola Cultura’s Storytelling Program for Experiential Learning (SPEL) summer sessions.

SPEL brings together high school and college students to develop their skills in a virtual, fast-paced and learning-forward team setting.

This summer we have two sessions for people between the ages of 16 and 25:

  • Our completely virtual SPEL semester for youth around the country begins meeting weekly via Zoom on May 26. D.C. and Boston residents receive stipends of $20 a week.
  • Boston SPEL, a paid hybrid summer jobs program exclusively for Boston youth, starts in late June. Boston youth can earn money working 25 to 30 hours a week.

Both programs are productive and fun ways to learn about jobs in the communications industry, build a portfolio of published work and gain professional skills through workshops, story labs and conversations with guest speakers.

We are currently looking for editorial, social media and copy editing interns. Application deadline extended to May 15.

  • High school students can apply via our online application form
  • College students and young adult volunteers can explore available opportunities on our Work With Us page. If you are in college or a recent grad and would like to be considered, please include your resume, cover letter and one to five work samples.
