TONIGHT: Teatro Lirico presents La Dolorosa

DC’s Hispanic lyric theater has just opened a four day run of the Spanish light opera, La Dolorosa. The production opened last night but there will be three more shows at the Church of the Holy City in Dupont Circle. From the website:
We are pleased to premiere Spanish composer Jose Serrano’s masterpiece. This is a staged production at the Church of the Holy City in Dupont Circle. La Dolorosa is a zarzuela (Spanish light opera) filled with dramatic emotion, and Italian verismo influence. This co-production with ZarzuelaDiSi is sung in Spanish (supertitles available), with dialogues in English. With Aurora Paz, Gina Maria Perregrino, Alvaro Rodriguez, Pablo Henrich, Jose Sacin, and Eduardo Castro.
