A year of storytelling:
our best-read articles of 2024

By | Published

This past year, interns and fellows in our Storytelling Program for Experiential Learning (SPEL) and volunteer writers in our Spanish Literary Program have been busy. We published over 100 stories in English and Spanish, spotlighting Latine arts and culture, environmental issues, community news and more. That’s about 10% more stories than we produced last year.

From reporting on the social impact of the Marvel character, Miles Morales, to writing about the plight of the endangered axolotl, a Mexican amphibian that’s been around millennia though maybe not for much longer. The most-read stories of 2024 also include our coverage of demolition plans for the Unity Mural and Hola Cultura’s continued fight to preserve this historic Adams Morgan artwork.
