Those Texas Roots’ musical “ambassadors,” Los Texmaniacs, are in town tonight at the Hamilton. For the Grammy award winning band, led by bajo sexto maestro, Max Baca, it’s a return trip the capital. They’ve played here before for the Smithsonian Folkways Festival. But tonights Tex-Mex diplomacy is a one-night only affair. So don’t let the Monday gloom keep you away!
From the group’s website:
Combine a hefty helping of Tex Mex conjunto, simmer with several parts Texas rock, add a daring dash of well-cured blues, and R&B riffs, and you’ve cooked up the tasty TexManiacs groove. Not to say that this group’s sound is for musical gourmets only… it is, “hip music everyone can relate to.”
Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
