Aprovechando que estamos en tiempos de bardas, muros y murallas, vayamos más allá de las paredes.
With so much talk about walls lately, Hola Cultura is taking things in a more uplifting direction this summer, devoting the entire month of July to the celebration of Latino murals—how they beautify our streets and inspire thoughtful reflection.
You are invited to the first free D.C. Latino Murals Tours on July 14 during a Sunday afternoon Murals Festival, organized by Hola Cultura in partnership with the Art Museum of the Americas and the D.C. Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs.
All month Hola Cultura’s website and social media will share new articles and other media chronicling the D.C. Latino community’s beautiful tradition of mural making. So come back each week for new content that chronicles the many ways street murals improve our daily lives, reflecting us and inspiring us to reflect. Through all of these great events and online media, we’ll be working to raise awareness about the impending demolition of the Unity Mural in Adams Morgan.
Te invitamos a la primera visita gratuita a los Murales Latinos de D.C. el domingo 14 de julio por la tarde, durante el evento denominado “Festival de Murales” organizado por Hola Cultura en asociación con el Museo de Arte de las Américas y la Oficina de Asuntos Latinos de la Alcaldía de D.C.
Durante todo el mes, el sitio web y las redes sociales de Hola Cultura compartirá nuevos artículos y otros medios que relatan la hermosa tradición de la creación de murales por la comunidad latina de D.C. Así que regrese cada semana, tendremos nuevo contenido en torno a la importancia de los murales en la calle, dado que no solo mejoran nuestra vida diaria, sino que tambien nos reflejan y nos inspiran a reflexionar. A través de varios eventos y en línea, trabajaremos para crear conciencia sobre la inminente demolición del Mural de la Unidad en Adams Morgan.
