Twins Aris and Raymond Compres are the brothers behind the popular Columbia Heights restaurant Los Hermanos, known for its savory Dominican cuisine.

Los Hermanos, which means “the Brothers” in Spanish, prides itself on serving traditional cuisine from the Compres’ Caribbean Island homeland. The Park Road NW eatery caters to local appetites. Familiar faces such as baseball players David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox and Carlos Ruiz of the Philadelphia Phillies, and even Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor have been known to drop in.

The ‘Los Hermanos’ team will prepare a traditional Dominican dish similar to tamales but called ‘pasteles dominicanos.’  Hola Cultura is happy that they are participating this year in TamalFest DC this Sun., Dec. 4.
