TamalFest DC is almost here! In these uncertain times, what we need most is community. So even more than ever, we’re excited to be getting everyone together to enjoy Latin American tamales. After all, tamales are one of the world’s first comfort foods!
Next week, we’ll have a story for you about our new logo, which pays homage to the long history of tamales and similar dishes that have been around thousands of years. Did you know the ancient Maya had a symbol for the tamal that turns up frequently in artifacts and the few texts that remain today? Come back next week and read all about it! Next week too, we start publishing our interviews with participating chefs, restaruantuers, and mami y papi small businesses.
There is still time for you to become a backer and help us make TamalFest an even bigger success than last year. We have more than $3,000 left to raise through our Kickstarter campaign. If you support Hola Cutura and our mission to promote and celebrate Latino culture in Washington DC, we need you now! If 100 people back us at $30 each, we’ll reach our goal in no time!
