Esta semana finaliza nuestro programa de verano para jovenes con bastante éxito, no sólo de asistencia y participación, sino como proyecto mismo. “Mapping our latino Community”, o mapeando a la población latina de Washington. Dónde vivimos, donde comemos, donde nos reunimos y dónde hacemos cultura.
Nuestro programa incluyó además; vistas a museos y la realización de selfies. (Summer Selfies). A continuación algunas fotos que deseamos compartir con ustedes. Gracias a La Oficina del Alcalde para Asuntos Latinos de DC (OLA).

This week ends our youth summer program. This summer our team of high school and college interns did research, conducted oral history interviews and used online mapping tools continue documenting the history–and individual stories–of the Washington DC area’s Latino Community. Last summer we focused on the 1970s through 2010. This summer our team looked at where Latinos are moving next, mapping where we live, eat, meet, and celebrate our culture. Our program also included visits to museums and Summer Selfies!
Here are some photos we want to share with you. Thanks to terrific team of young scholars and for the support of the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs (OLA) and Humanities DC. Please join us in September when we will publish our Summer 2016 research highlights.
