“You shall not pass” by Jeannette L Herrera

“Eyes on the Borders”–An exhibition by members of the Art Collective Latino American  Project

“Beyond and before landscapes, customs, and geography, there were artistic expressions of language, technique and theme. Now more than ever, artists need not be bound by heritage. Especially as Latin Americans in the United States, we have experienced multiculturalism for centuries. And like our artistic ancestors, we express our own unique impressions of the world. The Art Collective Latino American Project (ACLAP) explores universal subjects from multiple perspectives. We explore, extend, and create works of art, looking in from the outside. In this digital era, with communication easier than ever, we are rapidly building cultural bridges in a complex world.

In “Eyes on the borders” the necessity for this new more diverse existence is evident. Artistic ingredients from the Pampas, Andes, Amazon, and the Atlantic and Pacific coasts combine in a melting pot topped with the luminosity of the Caribbean Sea. The intrinsic artistic legacy of Mesoamerica invites reflection and meditation.”
