Es tradicion que cuando un ser querido muere se le ofrenda un poco de pan, flores, azucar y por supuesto unos tragos de tequila y cantos para que en el mas alla nuestro querido se alegre un poco o se endulce la vida en el inframundo o en el cielo si mas les gusta. Se encienden velas, se ponen fotos de nuestro querido, fruta y algun tipo de incienso o perfume. La ofrenda es una forma de compartir con nuestro difunto y decirle que se le recuerda y es importante aunque ya no este fisicamente con nosotros. Es una tradición, pero también una fiesta. ¿Que tal una ofrenda al perro favorito del barrio, el rey perruno, el sin pulgas, el azote de las perras.
Ofrendas hay muchas y cada quien tiene sus preferencias. Anoche asistimos a la fiesta ofrenda al perro. ¿Hablando de ofrendas, les gustaría ver una ofrenda a una gallina?

“La ofrenda” is a traditional way to remember one’s loved one’s by “offering” them things they loved in life and might just be missing now that they’re gone: freshly baked bread, fruit, a favorite dish, sweets, flowers, incense or perfume, photos of the dead — and something stronger such as tequila. People sing, dance and make merry in the theory that the enjoyment will reach the dead in the “inframundo” or perhaps in heaven. Its a funerary but also a party. Grrrrrr– WaWa!!! Mazizo, may you rest in peace!
