The National Hispanic Media Coalition issued an open letter to the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expressing their unhappiness that the late “Real Women Have Curves” actress Lupe Ontiveros was not included in the Academy Awards telecast’s “In Memoriam” segment. The outrage prompted articles in the Los Angeles Times and Fox News Latino on diversity–or the lack of it– in Hollywood.
