DC-based celebrity chef José Andrés has launched a Spanish Studies course at the International Culinary Center in Manhattan, an effort he hopes will boost the U.S. popularity of Spanish cuisine, according to the story in today’s New York Times.
If successful, the program could expand to Washington — as well as Miami and Los Angles — Andrés told the Times. He owns more than a dozen restaurants, including the District’s Oyamel and Jaleo, whose chefs were interviewed for the upcoming Hola Cultura webumentary, “El Arte de la Cocina/Kitchen Arts.”
