Just two Hispanic cuisine purveyors have made the Washington Post Magazine’s top 40 list of best area eateries this year. Jaleo got 3.5 stars out of a total of 4 stars, a good enough to put the José Andrés joint among the top six DC restaurants listed in the annual Fall Dining Guide. The Spanish restaruant, whose head chef Ramón Martínez is featured in our documentary “El Arte de la Cocina/Kitchen Arts,” is a perennial favorite of Post critic Tom Sietsema.
Hou have to head beyond the city limits to check out Sietsema’s only other Latino pick, though he does say Rockville’s La Limeña’s pisco sours, sashimi and tamales are worth a little extra effort.
The whole list is here.
