The Washington Hispanic, meanwhile, has an interview with Eduardo Díaz, director of the Smithsonian’s Centro Latino, and another with Nobel Prize winning novelist Mario Vargas Llosa. There’s also a piece on the controversy over the virtually non-existent presence of Latino artists among those honored by the Kennedy Center. Since the Kennedy Center Honors program began 34 years ago, just two Latinos have been included among the 170 honorees, the Post reported last week.
The Latin American Film Festival is in full swing at the AFI Silver Theatre through Oct. 8.
