Since Hola Cultura began as an arts project in 2011, it’s been a surprising and beautiful journey with important milestones. We’ve published more than a thousand articles about local Latino arts and culture, and our podcasts have gained critical acclaim and wider audiences.
This work has helped to earn Hola Cultura respect and recognition as a credible and trusted source of local news. Winning a regional Edward R. Murrow award this year for a 1-hour radio documentary we made in partnership with WAMU has been another turning point for our organization that has seen many challenges and come out stronger time and again.
Mentorship and experiential learning are at Hola Cultura’s core. We’re proud to provide professional editing services to our interns and fellows and Spanish-language volunteer writers, as well as opportunities to publish their best work. Our Storytelling Program for Experiential Learning (SPEL) also assists our youngest participants in preparing for the professional world. It’s a powerful model that we’ve proven effective in producing high quality and engaging arts journalism, and now investigative reporting.
Your support is the driving force behind this incredible journey. Thank you to all of our wonderful supporters who came out to our event in November and donated to our year-end fundraising campaign.
If we’re going to continue to share the stories of local artists and investigate untold social and environmental injustices, we need the support of individuals like you who share our values and mission of equality and opportunity for all. If you haven’t already, we are kindly asking you today to become part of the Hola Cultura community. By contributing, you’re not just funding a program; you’re helping us mold future leaders, amplify diverse voices and bring to life the stories that define us.
Join us in building a legacy that will continue to inspire and empower generations to come. Donate now and become part of Hola Cultura, where culture comes alive!
